I just recently fell in love with Facebook groups. I say just recently because up until this year I’ve had horrible experiences with groups. I get dozens of adds per week, without asking my permission of course, and all the groups I’m added to provide 0 value. They’re all one giant sales pitch. I didn’t realize how awesome groups could be until I was added to a group that was doing #9 on this list, and I was blown away!

If you're new here, welcome! I'm the founder of the BossMom Co where I help small business owners find that coveted work/home life balance. We focus on social media marketing, email marketing, and branding. My goal is to help you build a life off of social media that is just as awesome as the one you portray on instagram.

Today we’re going to cover how to grow your Facebook group effectively. I’ve been getting new customers from my groups all year without having to be the one to reach out. These are in no specific order.

1. One on One Through Dms

As you're having conversations with people on social media, you can authentically direct them to your Facebook group. When I have someone talking to me about getting started with homeschooling, it's easy for me to answer their question and then direct them to my group where they can ask additional questions with a whole community to help them vs just me. Check out the corresponding video to see other ways you can use dms to grow your groups.

2. Similar Facebook Groups

Now, I'm not suggesting going into groups and spamming your group link all over. That's a sure way to get booted. What you can do is interact and answer people's questions with video content you've already made. If you're following #6 on this list, then when they watch the video they'll be directed to join your Facebook group.

3. Welcome Email

As people join your email list, chances are you already have a welcome email going out to them. Why not link your group in your email also?

4. Add/Tag Method

This works if you have any type of opportunity or promo video. Put your video inside your group, and when people ask "what you do" or "what you sell", ask if they would mind you sending them a short video that explains. They'll say yes, and then you'll send a link to the video that is inside your Facebook group. The corresponding video clarifies this a little more if you're not entirely sure how this method works.

5. Side Bar on your Blog

A super easy way to advertise your group is by adding it on the side bar of your blog or website.

6. Advertise them in your Videos

If you do live videos or YouTube either one, you can casually work your Facebook group into your script.

7. Email Signatures

Whether you have a professional looking email sign off, or you have an "additional resources" sections at the bottom of your emails like I do, linking your group at the end of your emails is a great way to drive traffic.

8. Social Media Posts

An under utilized way to grow your Facebook group is by posting about it on social media. Tell your audience how your group can fix one of their pain points. Not sure how to do that? Check out the corresponding video.

9. Group Games

This is by far my favorite way to grow AND keep my groups engaged. Group Games are easy to create and fun to play. Click here to grab your freebie this week. I've put together 12 Facebook Group Games that you can start playing in your groups immediately.
