What is a freebie funnel?

In short, a freebie funnel is a FUNNEL that takes your audience from a cold contact to a buyer.

If you have not identified your brand yet, you'll want to do that ASAP because that's where it starts. A freebie funnel starts with a free resource that speaks directly to your audience. It has to be something that they want enough to trade you their contact info for it.

Once they give you their email, you can then start providing value to them for FREE as part of your funnel. A handful of people will buy from you immediately after downloading your freebie, but a large number of people will not buy until further into the funnel as you continue providing value to them.

In addition to providing, consistent, FREE value, you can occasionally drop a sales pitch to your email list and seal the deal that way as well. The beginning of the sales funnel is simply to gain leads that you can nurture, the end is money in your bank account. We're going to walk through what that looks like and how to create a funnel that actually works.

Imagine a year from now having thousands if not tens of thousands of leads on your list that you can follow up with at the click of a button (no more spending hours following up for month end) and when you create a new product you can get GUARANTEED eyes on it. Now imagine making hundreds and thousands of dollars every month just by providing consistent FREE value to that list; no more hunting for customers for your business. By you giving them free value, you're creating trust with your audience who will then buy from you organically.

If this sounds overwhelming, take a breath, just start with step 1.

Step 1 is simply creating ONE freebie- most of you already have a freebie which is why I'm doing this training. Now, if you haven’t created anything yet, check out the bossmom creator course where we walk you through the creation process from start to finish. The funnel process we're talking about today happens AFTER you have a freebie created.

1. Social Media Post

The funnel STARTS with a social media post. This is a free way to connect people to your email list. You want to make sure you're keeping your content F.R.E.S.H and using effective CTAs

2. Freebie Landing Page

Along with a social media post, you'll want to set up a landing page for your freebie. When your audience clicks on the link on social media to download your freebie, they'll automatically be redirected to your landing page and prompted to give you their email.

3. Micro Offer

If you don't have a micro offer that you're linking to your landing page, you're missing out on some serious cash.

A micro offer more often than not would be a small digital product but it could also be a tutorial video that has to do with your brand if you have something you're really good at AND are good at teaching it.

Example#1 Thanksgiving freebies for kids is my freebie, then the Bosskids Club is my micro offer

Example #2 Thanksgiving freebies for moms is my freebie, then the homeschool planner is my micro offer

4. You've Successfully Grown Your Email List

At this point, you've successfully added a lead to your list. Most teachers stop here, but I want to show you how I continue nurturing that lead to match them with more of my products and services that would BENEFIT them and their family.

WARNING: If your focus is solely on what your audience can do for YOU. This funnel won't work for you, and you won't make very much money. The idea behind this is serving our audience and making their lives easier by solving one or more of their problems.

5. Freebie Delivery

This kind of goes along with number four, but it's just a friendly reminder that the transaction doesn't stop when you get their contact. You'll need to set up the automation system so the freebie is actually sent to them. I may or may not have forgotten this step a couple times early in my career which is why I'm making this a step of it's own.

6. Consistently add value

This is where most people (myself included at one point) completely drop the ball. The last thing you want to do is burn through your email list by spamming them with sales blasts several times a week. Instead, spam them with VALUE. Focus on how you can SERVE them. I promise you that the sale will happen (could be days, weeks, months, or even YEARS later) if you focus on giving instead of getting.

Start out slow and just make it a point to send a value based email once per week. Here's the secret ingredient, at the end of each email, you're simply going to add a reminder of your offer in a one sentence "offer line" at the bottom.

Example: If you're ready to take your business to the next level and create a brand that your audience is lining up to buy from, click here.

This keeps your audience in front of your offer without shoving it in their face. Check out this week's freebie for 27 different "offer lines" proven to seal the deal when used as part of a value based freebie funnel.

7. Sales blast

Yes, there is a time and a place and it's directly tied to the amount of value you add. I follow the 4/1 rule. You can find what works for you, but basically what I do is for every 4 value based emails I send with FREE value, I send 1 sales blast. The reason for a sales blast is to get people off of the fence that have been thinking about buying every time they see your offer line at the end of your emails, but just haven't done it yet. Usually a sales blast will include a limited time discount or special offer.

Everyone's freebie funnel is going to look slightly different, find what works for you. If any of the above steps seem confusing, you'll want to make sure you check out the BossMom Creator Course where we take you through each step individually with tutorials and one on one help along the journey. As long as you have a funnel set up and you're nurturing it, adding value vs spamming, etc. you can consistently make money without having to chase down new clients. They'll be coming to you. Have an awesome Wednesday guys and I'll see y'all next time!
