Pre-k-college kids PLUS husband friendly easter baskets
I’m a huge fan of going all out for all of the holidays, but quickly realized that every holiday centers around candy. I’m not against candy, but not a fan of giving a huge basket of candy every 6 weeks or so in celebration of a new holiday, and Easter is no exception. Today I’m going to share with you some amazing Easter ideas that are not edible.
If you’ve watched our videos before, welcome back! We appreciate you! If you’re new here welcome! I’m Tonya Johnson and I’m the Holiday Homeschooler where we believe every season is a holiday season. We love celebrating life and showing you how you can have a fun and exciting homeschool while keeping a biblical worldview.
Now, I’m going to share with you 10 easter basket themes along with items that fall into that theme that can fit inside an Easter egg. Also keep in mind that you can buy bigger eggs, but most of the items I mention will fit inside a traditional egg. These specifically are non-edible themes, however; we always include a chocolate bunny as tradition and then for easter we also include a pack of peeps because that’s one of my daughter’s favorite sweet treats, so she gets them one time per year.

You're going to want to watch the corresponding video because it goes through each theme a lot more in depth than the text can.
1. Dress Up: Pre-k thru lower elementary

Literally anything can go in this one. I would go to the stores the day after halloween and buy a couple clearance costumes each year and build from there by visiting dollar stores and then adding one or two items from amazon. We did this theme 2-3 years, and one of her favorite costumes was this cute little super girl get up.

2. Creativity: All ages

3. Games: all ages
This one is a pricier, but it’s great if you’re currently building your game library anyways. Might as well kill two birds with one stone. Click here for a list of all of our favorite games.
FREEBIE ALERT

Instead of hiding games inside the Easter eggs, make the egg hunt itself a game using the free scavenger hunt clues above. I did not create this freebie, it's from teachers pay teachers.
4. Outside Toys -Elementary through lower middle school

For this one, you could also buy a $10 pool and use that as your basket.

5. Pool Toys - All ages

6. Slime

7. Road Trip Items - All ages

If you’re doing some traveling over the summer months, this is a great option! You will want to have clear expectations for this one when it comes to the food items and when they’re allowed to eat them.
Bonus: Road Trip Planner

Here’s another example of toys for tweens. Pop-its were a big thing in our house the last few years. This year she’s more into squishy balls, but I did find a pop-it game that I think she’s going to really like that I’ll prob just put into her stocking.
8. Clothes themed - Pre-k thru Elementary

8. Clothes themed - Middle school and up

9. Spa basket middle school and high school

9. Bath Basket: Pre-k thru elementary school

10. Gift card basket - teen and college age

Two honorable mentions that
didn’t make the list are:
Color themed and Character themed
These are pretty easy to do because if it fits in with that color or that character, it’s a go! We had planned on doing pastel theme this year because she needed a few different things from each category. I say planned because she unfortunately she is the one who answered the door when the items arrived and without realizing it start opening bags to put things away and quickly realized they were things she wasn’t supposed to see. At that point the surprise was over, so we just decided she could have them.
