For the last 7 years, I’ve attracted 15+ hot leads, meaning they are ready to buy, every single week from social media, for free!

If you’re new here, I’m Tonya Johnson. I’ve been working full time from social media since 2016 while juggling all things marriage and motherhood. This channel is for all the moms out their wearing all the hats and truly living that #bossmom life.

Ok, so if you did the math, I’ve been working from social media for 8 years, but only really thriving for 7. The first year was me posting and praying and really just hoping that I would attract buyers into my business. When I learned the 2 things that I needed to do consistently to funnel people into my business, my entire mindset changed. No longer was I doing all of the busy work. Once I figured out what actions actually brought money into my business, I eagerly looked forward to working every day because I finally had clarity. I was talking to a new client this week and she was telling me how she wanted to back away from social media because she wanted to attract more established clientele. After looking through her profiles and her offers I was like bam, it immediately became clear that her problem was not having brand clarity. She was attracting people to the vibe she was putting out on social media because she wasn’t posting in alignment with what she wanted her brand to actually be.

So how do you attract people to your social media that are not only qualified, but ready to buy?  2 things:

1. Brand Clarity

Not only do you need to have a clear vision of what your brand is, but you need to to be able to convey that very clearly to your audience. Otherwise, you’re going to have the same problem my client is having. Her services, her overall esthetic, her content, everything I saw on her page was stellar. Like first class marketing. I could instantly see why she’s as successful as she is, and she’s already massively successful. What she was coming to me for was to help her take her business over that 6 figure hump. She’s right here, and just needs a tiny little nudge. She wants to eliminate some of the social media management work and move into a role where she’s teaching social media coaches to manage and grow their own social medias. What I saw on her socials was lot of talk about the different packages she’s offering which was speaking to an audience that didn’t align with her brand. She’s speaking to people who want someone to come in and run their socials for them when what she really wants to do is attract people who want a coach to teach them how to run their own socials. So again, a very small little tweak that I’m going to help her make that leap to 6 figures. Just to give you some perspective, I’ve done this with dozens of clients at this point. I have the unique gift of being able to talk to you for about 15 min, look through your socials, and immediately tell you what the problem is and how to fix it. By the way, this is something I do for free, so if you’re building a business on social media and you feel like you’re kind of stuck or maybe you’re spinning your wheels doing all the work and just kind of spinning your wheels. Reach out to me on instagram @thebossmomco and let’s see if we can help you gain a little clarity with your brand and start attracting those right buyers.

I want to walk you through another client’s journey to brand clarity that we just had this week. She came to me with a jewelry business. Really pretty, unique pieces of clay jewlery. Originally, she talked about the brand being for older teens/young women to be able to buy affordable jewelry. Now, that’s a pretty generic brand. A lot of people sell affordable jewelry for the young adult crowd. How was she going to set herself apart. These are the things we walked through and what I would highly recommend you walking through also:

So let’s kind of work backwards: These are the questions I asked her (in black) and the answers we came up with together (in pink).

What does your product solve? What does it do or fix for your audience?

Affordable
Unique pieces, not just wearing the same thing as everyone else
Fun

Then we talked about what kind of jewelry she wanted to do, right now she does mainly clay jewelry and mainly earrings, but she wants to leave it open to do other mediums and pieces in the future, so we don’t to brand as a clay earrings company because then it’s hard to add those layers. What we did want to do however was check out the competition in the clay jewelry world, so we did some market research. Meaning we went to social, looked up 5 or so clay jewelry pages that were doing really well and asked two questions:

What are they doing better than me?
A lot of the brands we looked at had collections versus just a bunch of jewelry They had things sorted out in sets. So some of the options we talked about was doing different lines: a teacher line, a holiday line, a mommy and me line, a sports line. things like that.

What sets me apart from them?
Her name: all the bigger pages we looked at were pretty generic names. Clay creations, things like that, and there weren’t really any back stories. We played around with a lot of ideas for her name. One that she really liked was lavender style designs, but then we realized the abbreviation for that was going to be LSD which is a drug so.. that was out. The name didn’t necessarily fit her brand either, but she loved including the word lavender. After playing around with a ton of options, we settled on jasminesque jewelry. Initially she said it and I was like um… ok, it’s pretty but what does it mean. Jasmine is her first name, but then we looked up esque and it means like the likeness of. It all fell into place! Her business is all about creating jewelry that fits your unique style, your likeness if you will, your ensque. Jasmineque jewelry, Jewelry that fits your personality. It literally clicked and that’s what sets her apart from everyone in her niche. She has the ability to make earrings that perfectly capture the personality of the buyer. Its really cool. That’s going to help her stand out among the competition.

Like I said, if brand clarity is something you struggle with, reach out to me and let me help you pinpoint how you too can stand out from everyone else in your niche. You’re already doing all of the work, you might as well start reaping the benefits from your efforts.

2. Lead Magnets

The second piece of the puzzle is creating a lead magnet or a giveaway if you will. Now that you know who your perfect buyer is, what can you give them for free in exchange for their email? Most people don’t buy right away. They need to like know and trust you first. By giving them something of value, at no cost to them, you’re showing them that you’re willing to show up and help them before they every give you anything in return. If you’re willing to provide so much value for free, how much harder are you going to work for them once they become your customer. This is a simple process. I’ll use the above two clients as an example for this also, but first I want to tell you about the freebie I have for you. Actually two because the first one is that 15 min clarity session that you’re going to book as soon as we get off of this training. The second one is a branding worksheet that I put together for you that you can download here.

Remember, the same feeling you’re feeling right now of how nice I am to put that together for you as a freebie is the same thing you want your audience to feel when they see your freebie. What you don’t want to them to feel lis “what does that have to do with anything she’s talking about” “that looks cheap” “eh, it’s not worth training my email for”. If you come across as someone who takes shortcuts on your giveaways, no one is going to trust that once they pay you you’re going to show up for them in a way that is any different.

So client #1 wants to attract buyers who are looking to learn how to grow their social media pages themselves. She has a free ebook on how to gain leads from social media. It’s a huge value add to her audience and goes along perfectly with her goal of selling a coaching package on how to build a social media business. Client #2 is brand new, so we haven’t even talked about putting together a giveaway yet, but it could be something as simple as entering their Email in return for 20% off their first order. That’s a value add for people who already think they would be interested in purchasing her jewelry. What it won’t do is get the people just casually stumbling across her page to exchange info. One freebie she can make and then never have to update would be a jewelry styling guide. Another one would be a seasonal lookbook/catelogue especially since right now she doesn’t have a website, she has a Facebook page. Creating a look book would help her audience see everything she has and they could easily dm her on social to order. 3 very different freebies, one for the people in her audience ready to order, one for the people in her audience at least interested in seeing her jewelry, and the 3rd for everyone who likes jewelry which would be everyone in her audience.

Once you get an Email address, you can set up an email sequencing system to nurture that list and ultimately get them to buy from you.
